On Sunday September 14,2025 , members of the club set up a booth at Stony Brook University , showcasing what our club is all about. For the second year in a row the club was invited to set up a booth at Maker Faire. Members of the club set up a variety of projects to promote amatuer radio and the Suffolk County Radio Club, these included, Slow Scan TV, an HF station, a GOES-19 receive station and Meshtastic.
We had a steady flow of interested folks stopping by all day, including club members, members of other clubs and people with a genuine interest about Amateur Radio. Members volunteering their time at maker faire patiently explained about the different stations we had set up, amateur radio in general and the long history of our club.
Members of the club also volunteered at the soldering workshop, helping folks of all ages with soldering the badge that was available to faire attendees. Those club members all agreed that this was a very rewarding experience.
