Guy K2HOT and Ken KD2DZZ represented the club on Saturday, April 27 at Children’s Spring Festival, an event sponsored by the Medford Chamber of Commerce for the community held at Medford Memorial Park Other members stood by on air to provide radio contacts for anyone interested in “playing radio” that day from the park.
Our station was well attended, we were asked by many about the radio field and what it has to offer. Many adults expressed interest in gaining their license as many of these had fond memories of their use of CB radio in the 70s and 80s. Guy and Ken explained the process for getting licensed for amateur radio and where they could take the test to acquire that license.
There were games and contests of various types, a musician, food vendors, representatives from various civic groups as well as government and municipal agencies. Guy and Ken said it was a great time in the park!
