Ken KD2DZZ set up at the Suffolk County Council’s 100th Anniversary Camporee at Southaven Park in Yaphank, NY on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Ken was the sole representative from SCRC and estimates that about 2,500 scouts were in attendance. Ken set up a 10 x 20 pop-up to keep dry as it rained or drizzled the whole day.
A special thank you to Nate K3LTC who spent most of the morning talking to the scouts who stopped by the booth. Over 100 scouts signed in at our booth. 5 scouts who recently got their license stopped by the booth and one scout, Bradley from Troop 80, Farmingville will be taking his test this month. 1000 copies of SCRC information were passed out to the scouts so they can download the radio merit badge information.
